Speak Xhosa

Craig Charnock conducts popular and enjoyable evening classes to help adult learners become comfortable and confident in everyday conversational Xhosa, through a mix of simplified and appropriate grammatical explanations, useful and important vocabulary and warm, engaging classes.

"Relaxed, informal, non-judgemental but focused. Having tried books, and having heard other people have done the UCT summer school & found it too much, I’d say this was the ideal way to get underway and start speaking immediately."

- Bryan Rostron, writer -

"Craig teaches Xhosa at the right speed, not in a rush, and he makes sure that Everyone SPEAKS the language in class, and I feel this is hugely important, as I did Xhosa for 1 year, but the teacher insisted on giving us grammar and would not make us speak or speak to us in Xhosa the way Craig did, and as a result I had no confidence to Speak it, but now I do."

- Silvana Silverman, domestic engineer -
